Rivers in Scotland – Paddleboarding River Day Tours
With such a wide selection of amazing rivers to explore on our paddleboards it is hard to list them all, but below is a shortlist to get the imagination going.
Paddleboarding The River Tay:
The River Tay offers everything from gentle touring on wide beautiful stretches of river with an ever-changing and engaging landscape, to some excellent sections of white water, inhabited by a rich diversity of wildlife from otters and beavers, to all manner of birdlife (heron, dipper, kingfishers and more).
Paddleboarding The River Tummel & Dunnalistair Water:
Starting by traveling through the village of Kinloch Rannoch down the River Tummel we travel towards the open water and natural amphitheater of the surrounding hills and the famous Schiehallion Munro. From small island fortresses to meandering waterways, there is so much to explore on Dunalistair Water, a great way to get out into the wilds of Scotland and reconnect with nature.
Paddleboarding The River Dochart:
The River Dochart is in Perthshire, Scotland. Coming from Ben Lui, it flows east out of Loch Dochart and through the glen of the same name. At Killin just before it enters Loch Tay are the Falls of Dochart. The river is sometimes also considered to be a part of the upper reaches of the River Tay.
Paddleboarding The River Garry & Loch Faskally:
Traveling out of the rocky gorge at the base of the Killiecrankie visitor center (great pools to teach and practice the maneuvering of your Standup Paddle Board), this beautiful stretch of the river takes you through a variety of landscapes and scenic joy, woodlands, rock formations, and pebble beaches to have a rest stop on and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Finishing our adventure with a journey down Loch Faskally towards Pitlochry Dam…hopefully for tea & cake at the visitor center.
