Waterfalls Woodlands and Whisky Tour:

A quick look at the Tour:

This day adventure (Waterfalls Woodlands and Whisky Tour) is for anyone looking to get out of the city’s and explore Scotland’s stunning nature spots and walking trails – with a visit to Edradour Distillery (claimed to be Scotland’s Smallest Distillery).

This private tour sees you collected from our arranged point and off to our first stop at the Dunkeld Hermitage, a cathedral-like woodland atmosphere as you walk alongside the waterfalls, rapids and swirling pools of the River Braan towards Ossian’s Hall and Bridge, this shortstop will give us a chance to wake up after our drive out of the city and breath in the fresh air within the Douglas Firs.

From here we will travel north to Pitlochry and the Black Spout Waterfalls with its easy woodland walk on good paths, which winds its way to the Edraour Distillery (You can include a tour of the Distillery for an extra cost on arrival – £12pp). From here it’s back to the vehicle to continue to our lunch stop.

Stopping for some lunch (Packed lunch can be ordered on request – other lunch stops are available) at the House of Bruar in Blair Atholl, take advantage of the Victorian-style glass-covered conservatory, where you can enjoy your meal under the protection of a glass canopy, regardless of the weather.

The afternoon involves a walk up to the Falls of Bruar, A beautiful short but surprisingly strenuous walk with good views of the gorge and falls from two stone bridges and a picnic area.

From here it is time to head home (back to the arranged point of departure/drop off point), and deliver you back to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest after a long day.

Day Tour Itinerary (Waterfalls Woodlands and Whisky Tour)

A full days adventure enjoying some of Highland Perthshire’s hidden gems, woodlands, waterfalls and walks.

We will get the day going with your morning pick-up from your hotel or arranged collection point (covering all major cities in Scotland) by myself in our luxury minibus.

From here we will go directly to the heart of Scotland, and a morning wake up walk in the Dunkeld Hermitage (Big Tree Country), come face to face with the thunderous Black Linn Falls – best viewed from Ossian’s Hall, Breathe in the earthy woodland and tang of pine needles as you wander along the banks of the River Braan, look out for the totem pole hidden in the woods – and red squirrels darting about in the treetops.

We will continue travelling north to Pitlochry and the Black Spout Waterfalls for the next stage in our adventure, with its easy woodland walks on well-managed and maintained paths, winding our way back to the Blair Athol Distillery (one of Scotlands Oldest & Smallest functioning distilleries – you can include a tour of the Distillery for an extra cost with pre-booking required). The walk is a circular route and thus leads us back to the vehicle to continue on to our lunch stop.

the day just gets better…

Stopping for some lunch (Packed lunch can be ordered on request – other lunch stops are available) at the House of Bruar in Blair Atholl, take advantage of the Victorian-style glass-covered conservatory, where you can enjoy your meal under the protection of a glass canopy, regardless of the weather.

Our next destination involves a walk up to the Falls of Bruar in Blair Atholl, A beautiful short but surprisingly strenuous walk with good views of the gorge and falls from two stone bridges and a picnic area. It progresses down the steep northern slopes of Glen Garry before discharging into the River Garry at Bruar, three miles west of the village of Blair Atholl – this walk on well managed and maintained paths give a great view of the falls, but also the local area with its high vantage point.

With a last chance for some retail therapy in The House of Bruar, it is time to head home (back to the arranged point of departure/drop off point), and deliver you back to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest after a long day and time to reflect on the day’s adventure, sights, and sounds.

Option for dinner booking in the local area possible – please advise if required.
