Canyoning or canyoneering is an adventure activity that combines rock and water activities into a sport full of adventure, adrenaline and natural beauty. You will be trekking through river gorges, around rock pools and behind waterfalls.
You will find yourself abseiling down waterfalls, swimming in crystal clear water and tackling cliff jumps into stunning rock pools, this has to be one of the best ways to explore the hidden gems of Scotland’s wild and rugged landscapes.
Bring swimwear to wear under a wetsuit and a towel. You are welcome to bring a waterproof camera, but we provide free photos and videos of this trip.

The Falls of Bruar – Canyoning Adventure Tours
Exquisite waterfalls and rock features are surrounded by beautiful pine forests. This canyon has everything to offer; awesome jumps ranging from 2 meters to 10 meters, flumes, vertical rock slides, and awesome waterfall abseils. Bruar Canyon is nonstop fun, with something for everyone!
Bruar is a very special place for canyoning in Scotland. Its first descent was over 15 years ago and was one of the first canyoning venues opened in Scotland.
Ultimate Bruar! – Advanced Canyoning Trip
The ultimate Bruar experience is a trip you will remember forever! This canyon descent is an Advanced canyoning adventure, which runs from the very top to the bottom of the Bruar Falls. It is full of jumps from 3-10 meters, slides up to 6m, abseils up to 18m, and zip lines.
Ultimate Bruar is a great canyoning trip for those who have been canyoning (or a similar adventure sport) before, have abseiling experience, and are confident in the water.
Dollar Canyon – Canyoning Adventure Tours
Dollar canyon is one of our most popular trips. It is great for beginners or intermediates and just 45 minutes from Edinburgh. Dollar canyon is very accessible and holds some awesome features; with jumps up to 5 meters, epic natural water flumes and many waterfalls (the most jaw-dropping being the two-tier waterfall over 25 meters!)
This lush green canyon is set in the stunning Clackmannanshire countryside overlooked by Dollar Castle.
Alva Canyon (Advanced) – Canyoning Adventure Tours
Alva Gorge is a fantastic, real exploration of discovery situated close to Stirling in central Scotland, with 5 waterfalls all over 8m, a good head for heights is required.
The canyon involves numerous rappels including a zip line into smugglers’ cave. The penultimate waterfall ‘corkscrew falls’ will leave you totally buzzing. This is one of the deepest and most committing canyons south of the Highlands of Scotland.
Calvine (Family) – Canyoning Adventure Tours
A short 20-minute drive from Pitlochry Calvine Canyon provides an amazing introduction to Canyoning in Scotland.
Make your way down the gorge, walk through rock formations, swim in crystal clear pools, slide down natural water flumes, and finish at the jumping pool.
