Sustainable Tourism on Tour
Our vehicle of choice, the Ford Tourneo Custom, is a modern fuel-efficient vehicle to minimise environmental impact. No more than 3 years old and with a Euro 6.2 emissions standards compliant engine. The Tourneo Custom incorporates a range of no compromise systems designed to maximise both performance and efficiency, producing a 55% reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions versus the Euro5 emissions standard.
On tour, we carry a maximum of 8 passengers to ensure a ‘light footprint’ on the environment and communities we visit.
Committed and passionate about keeping Scotland clean and tidy, we carry recycled bags on tour and have a zero litter policy.
Packed lunches and food on tour provided in recyclable biodegradable packaging, from local providers to support local business and reduce food miles.
Adventure Activities – Providing activities with low environmental impact, whilst immersing and educating clients on the health and wellbeing benefits of these activities and the environments they are enjoyed in.
Operating a ‘leave-only-footprints’ policy for both guide (myself) and clients, and adhering to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Driver training – CPC module in Eco-driving training (part of bus driver training and development), to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.
