How can you help with Sustainable Tourism?
Here are some tips on how you can help us reduce your carbon footprint more:
Travel & Sustainable Tourism
Use public transport before and after your tour, or even better walk or cycle where possible.
Save Water
Use the minimum amount of water needed for a shower/bath, don’t let the water run while shaving, brushing or washing, and check if your hostel or B&B has a linen reuse program – if so, reuse your towels, if not, request staff not to change them every day.
Energy & Sustainable Tourism
Please turn off the lights when you leave the room and close the windows when the heating is on.
Nature – Respect nature and wildlife by not littering, guarding against fire and using footpaths responsibly. All of our guides are trained in ‘leave no trace’ and will help you follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code: www.outdooraccess-scotland.com
Shop local keep it Sustainable
Use local products and services. They’ll give you a flavour of the area and help support the local community.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Try to avoid overly packaged goods and say no to that extra carrier bag (they cost 5p each in Scotland). Reuse your water bottles (or carry a reusable one as there are plenty of fill stops). Recycle any waste you have. Ask your guide about the local recycling facilities.
Think Sustainability
stop and think when buying or disposing of products packaging, it only takes a few changes to make a personal difference.
Be kind – to each other, to nature and to yourself.
Happy Travels…
